CREATING THRIVING COMMUNITY CENTRES
We bring new life to residential communities in the Nordics by developing or redeveloping their local community retail centers
WHO WE ARE
NREP Retail is a leading owner, manager and developer of community retail centers in major growing Nordic cities and suburbs.
Our centers cater for everyday needs and are located by public transportation infrastructure hubs close to where people live, work or pass through on their daily commutes.
Since 2005, we have managed and invested in 44 community retail centres and other retail in the Nordics.
Strategy and approach
We work in close collaboration with local municipalities, tenants and other stakeholders to make community retail centers more attractive for the communities they serve.
Creating real long term value for tenants and the communities in which we invest is the foundation of our success. Our team of retail specialists, engineers, consultants, developers and sustainability experts take a multi-stakeholder approach to create long term sustainable urban environments for generations to come.

PROPERTIES
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
We see effective environmental risk management and sustainability as a prerequisite to operate, but we also see it as an integrated part of ensuring and improving the long term value of our centers. Effective environmental management not only mitigates potential future risks and liabilities, but is also an opportunity to directly reduce energy costs, increase residual value and improve center attractiveness for consumers.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We are committed to establish sustainable relationships with the local stakeholders impacted by our businesses to ensure mutual respect and understanding, active partnership and a long term sustainable commitment. Well beyond mere regulatory compliance, our ambition is to have a positive impact on the local communities in which we invest.
INSTALLATION OF SOLAR PANELS MAKES CENTERS MORE ATTRACTIVE
While developing the retail center “BIG” in Herlev, Denmark, we entered an agreement with GreenGo Energy to install solar panels on the roof of the building to supply electricity to some of the tenants covering ~25% of their overall electricity consumption. This “home grown” electricity supplied through the solar panels saves the tenant 7% on the cost compared to conventional electricity, thus making BIG an even more attractive location in which to run a business. The production of electricity can be monitored in real-time with the GreenGo Monitor software. This software could also be used as an excellent marketing tool towards the green-minded customers, if installed on screens inside the retail center further emphasising the tenants’ green profile. The solar panels are estimated to save almost 300 tonnes of CO2 in the first year of implementation.
